Invisalign

Clear braces, or aligners, are specially created to fit over the surface of the teeth to move them into their perfect position in Invisalign Orthodontics gradually. Because of their clear, practically undetectable appearance, Invisalign clear aligners are popular among patients of all ages who wish to straighten their teeth quickly (and discreetly). What Are the Benefits of Teeth Straightening?

Teeth are designed to work together for the rest of your life to maintain a functional bite. Smiles with crooked, gapped, or misaligned teeth, on the other hand, maybe at risk for dental problems and self-esteem loss. Patients should think about the following orthodontic benefits to support a good bite alignment and an attractive smile:

  • Treat modest to more serious biting alignment problems, like TMJ discomfort or TMD.
  • Eliminate malocclusions, such as a crowded smile or crooked teeth.
  • Restore a crooked smile and prevent other bite problems
  • Support the natural processes of the bite pleasantly.

Invisalign vs. Metal Braces

Invisalign, unlike traditional metal braces, is noted for its unmistakable appearance and ability to be taken out before meals or eating sticky, sugary delicacies. This procedure provides the following advantages for patients:

  • Easy to remove before eating (and will not trap food) and for easy tooth cleaning
  • Aesthetically pleasing smile throughout the process, thanks to a discrete appearance.
  • Does not irritate, chafe, or itch the inside of the cheek and doesn’t require the use of gummy wax.
  • Invisalign can straighten a smile in as little as 12 months, but traditional braces can take up to two years.

What is Invisalign, and how might it help me?

Not everyone has the patience to wait 2-3 years in hefty metal braces to get a better-looking smile. Thankfully, Invisalign, which is constructed of a durable thermoplastic material that can straighten teeth quickly and easily, is evident by design. Our Invisalign procedure is straightforward, but the results are frequently stunning! If you’ve had a nagging dental concern about a crooked grin or misaligned teeth, you should consult Dr. Meinerz about using Invisalign to straighten your teeth.

Our Invisalign Process

Bulky wires, brackets, and those colorful rubber bands that have made metal braces stand out over the years aren’t used in the Invisalign process. On the other hand, Invisalign is discrete and uses thin, sturdy aligners built from a mold of the teeth. Each set of aligners is created to fit the shape of your smile precisely. The teeth are gently pushed into place by wearing two sets of aligners (one for the top jaw and one for the lower jaw) for around two weeks each. Wearing your aligners may take some getting used to at first, but it will get easier with time.

Aligners: How to Take Care of Them!

After you receive your Invisalign aligners, you must take exceptional care of them. Losing, injuring, or breaking an aligner might delay your treatment and negatively impact the outcome.

You risk staining your aligners if you drink anything other than water while wearing them. Hot beverages, such as coffee or tea, might twist your aligners, necessitating the purchase of a new pair. Chewing may deform or damage your aligners, so you cannot eat while wearing them.

Also, remember to rinse your aligners every time you take them out to eat or drink something. Saliva and mouth microorganisms will be flushed away as a result. To avoid losing, misplacing, or damaging your aligners, store them in their carrying case whenever you go out to dine.

If possible, brush your teeth after eating before putting your aligners back in. If you can’t brush your teeth, rinse your mouth with an antibacterial mouthwash or plain water to remove food particles and keep your teeth clean.

To keep food particles and bacteria out of your aligners, you must practice good dental hygiene. Bacteria and food particles can become caught between your teeth and aligners if you do not brush, floss, and rinse properly. This can lead to cavities.

Brush your aligners carefully with a fragrance-free soap that rinses out cleanly at night before putting them on for the night. In addition, once a week, clean and sterilize your aligners using denture cleansers or a product like Invisalign cleaning crystals.

What Occurs After Invisalign Treatment?

Dr. Meinerz will talk to you about your options for keeping your teeth straight after your Invisalign treatment at All Kind Smiles. There are two types of retainers:

  • Fixed
  • Removable

There are two types of retainers:

Fixed retainers are constructed of a particular form of wire bonded to the back of your teeth after treatment to keep them in place and prevent them from shifting. The main advantage of a fixed retainer is that you do not have to remember to wear it at night, and it keeps your teeth straight all the time. On the other hand, some patients may object to a piece of metal becoming a permanent part of their mouth.

Removable retainers are an option if this is the case. These aligners resemble Invisalign aligners in appearance. They are, however, designed to be worn just at night to prevent tooth shifting. To maintain your teeth straight, you must wear them consistently. If you do not wear your teeth daily, they may begin to shift back to their natural position and become crooked.

Tips for Getting the Best Invisalign Results

Wearing your aligners for at least 20-22 hours per day is the most crucial thing you can do. You will not achieve the ideal results if you do not wear your aligners correctly and regularly.

Even after switching to a new set of aligners, make sure you maintain track of your old ones and store them safely. If your aligners are lost or damaged in the rare scenario, you can go back to your old set until Dr. Meinerz get a replacement set ready for you.
